Something is wrong with the app
Write to hello@prtstatus.com. What helps most:
- Which station you were at, and roughly when.
- What the app said, and what was actually happening.
- Your phone and OS version, if you know them.
A screenshot is worth more than a description, especially for anything about the status being wrong — the app shows which source answered and how old it was, and that line is usually the whole diagnosis.
The status looks wrong
Check what the app says underneath the headline. “Should be running” means it only has the timetable and nobody has confirmed anything — that is the app being honest rather than broken. “Running” with a source and a time means something actually observed it.
If it is wrong and you are standing there, report it. That is the fastest way to fix it for everybody behind you, and it takes one tap.
Alerts are not arriving
- Alerts only fire when several riders agree something is down — never for a delay, a crowd, or outside PRT hours. A quiet phone is usually correct.
- Check notifications are allowed for PRT Status in your phone's settings.
- Arrival warnings need location set to Always. With anything less your phone will not wake the app once it is closed, which is exactly when they would help.
Reporting a security issue
Email hello@prtstatus.com with “security” in the subject. Please give enough detail to reproduce it, and please do not test against other people's data. You will get a reply, and credit if you want it.
Everything else
Feature requests, complaints, and “why does it do that” are all welcome at the same address. This is a student project — it gets better because people say what is wrong with it.
